The paper is a review of the reported data on the use of low-molecular heparins (LMH) for prevention of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The authors also describe their first findings obtained as a result of the use of Clexan (enoxaparin) in patients with coexistent coronary artery disease (CAD) for prevention of coronary complications in reconstructive vascular surgery. In the basic and control groups, the total incidence of ACS in the postoperative period was equal to 47.8 and 47.6%, that of myocardial infarction 4.3 and 11.1%, respectively. Analysis of the electrocardiography readings with regard to the main risk factors (low values of the coronary reserve and myocardial contractility, elderly age, postinfarction cardiosclerosis) has revealed the advantages of Clexan included into the treatment schedule with the intention of preventing coronary disorders.

KEY WORDS: clexan, low-molecular heparins, coronary complications, vascular reconstructions.
