The study evaluated the effectiveness of arterialization of leg superficial venous system in patients with critical limb ischemia caused by occlusion of distal vascular bed. The cumulative rate of limb salvage in 3 years of follow-up was 83.3% in patients who underwent arterialization and 45.6% in conservatively treated patients. It was shown that 3 months period of arterialized vein patency was sufficient for limb salvage. Arterialization of leg superficial venous blood flow was proved to be a method of choice for patients with critical lower limb ischemia caused by occlusion of crus and foot arteries being 2-fold more effective then conservative therapy.

KEY WORDS: critical lower limb ischemia, occlusion of leg arteries, venous arterializations.
