The appropriateness of balloon-dilated stents use in infants, in patients with aortic arch hypoplasia related with coarctation and in patients with moderate residual stenoses is discussed. Stenting appeared to be an effective method of aortic coarctation and recoarctation treatment, expanding the area of implementation for balloon angioplasty. This method can be an alternative for surgical repair of aortic recoarctation and hypoplasia, resistant for angioplasty.
