A METHOD FOR LIMB SIZE DETERMINATION

The author suggests a new method for limb size determination on the basis of ifs linear and circular measurements. The design formula is based on computation of the size of the truncated cone. Statistic treatment of the significance of the method, conducted in a group of 10 patients (20 measurements altogether) indicates insignificance of the difference between the mean values of the limb size. The data obtained confirm the practical importance of the formula since computation performed according to it permits more adequate judgement about the dynamics of the limb size both before and after operation. The use of the method considerably simplifies the size determination without causing any incon veniences to patients.
