RESECTION AND REIMPLANTATION OF THE STENOSED RENAL VEIN ENTRAPPED IN THE AORTO-MESENTERIC "FORCEPS"

The authors brief the data on the incidence of stenoses of the left renal vein entrapped in the aorto-mesenteric "forceps", the pathophysiological aspects that account for the clinical manifestations of the given pathology, the basic principles of the diagnosis and treatment modalities. Provide a detailed description of a case with stenosis of the left renal vein entrapped in the aortomesenteric "forceps" ("nutcracker" syndrome) associated with permanent macrohematuria. Present the data supplied by different diagnostic modalities. Emphasise the importance of duplex scanning. Describe a successfully performed resection and reimplantation of the left renal vein which allowed to release the patient of hematuria and preserve normal renal function.
